About the Images

The first and second picture are of trucks hauling cabbage trees. The drivers are supposed to stop and drop off a ticket saying that they had picked up a load of tree's. That is the only requirement that Forestry has to count tree's. I personally counted 11 trucks going over 75mph with out stopping. When I got out of my truck with my camera I asked the driver of the first picture "how many tree's did he think they were taking out of Picayune", he said "somewhere in the 500,000 range" and he said "there goal is 2 Million tree's by the end of the project"!

By the way for over a year Hank Graham and his buddy from Labelle Mr. Skinner have been taking tree's for nothing. Now I think Forestry gets 16.50 per tree provided they stop and put a ticket at the Picayune sign at Int. 75, and Everglades Blvd.

Not only are the tree's being destroyed, but the machines are soaking the ground and contaminating the water with hydraulic fluid and diesel fuel.

Another issue is the selling of the tree's . These pictures show more destruction in Picayune. Now there getting a whopping $1.51 a ton...for pines that have been there for 75 years, going back from the hard road for 200 ft., for no reason other than the fact that Forestry doesn't want to fight fires
